How to use the Brain Break Wheel

Set your filters to match your classroom situation, then spin the wheel. The wheel shows only activities that match your selected age group, position, noise level, space, and duration. Every segment on the wheel is a real activity you can run right away.

When the wheel stops, you see the activity name, instructions, suggested duration, and labels for position, noise, and space. Read the instructions to your students, then press Start Timer when you are ready to begin. The timer uses timestamps, so it stays accurate even if you switch browser tabs.

Turn on No Repeat to avoid getting the same activity twice in one session. When all eligible activities have been used, the wheel explains this and offers a button to restart the pool. If you change filters, activities that were already used and are still eligible stay excluded, while newly eligible activities become available again.

Examples

Small classroom, quick reset

Set Age to 5–7, Position to Seated, Noise to Quiet, and Duration to Up to 1 Minute. Spin to get a calm, desk-based activity like Silent Stretch or Desk Finger March. Read the instructions, start the timer, and move on with your lesson.

Seated activity session

Set Position to Seated and Space to At a Desk for a session where students stay in place. Turn on No Repeat so each spin gives a new activity. Use the timer for each one, then spin again for the next break.

Filters and no-repeat mode

Filters combine to narrow the activity pool. For example, selecting Seated and Quiet shows only activities students can do at their desks without speaking. The eligible count above the wheel tells you how many activities match before you spin.

No Repeat mode tracks which activities have already been selected in your current browser session. It excludes used activities that are still eligible while allowing newly eligible ones to appear if you change filters. When the pool runs out, you get a clear message and a button to restart.
